Introduction

BloqLoft is a quilt design app for iPad. You design blocks, arrange them into quilt layouts, assign fabrics from your real stash, and export what you need to start sewing.

How BloqLoft is organized

If you've ever designed a quilt on paper, then BloqLoft's approach will feel familiar. You start with a block: a single quilt unit like a nine-patch, flying geese, or a your favorite star. Blocks are built from patches (called Shapes) in the Block Editor. Once you have blocks, you then arrange them into a quilt layout in the Quilt Editor.

Your work is organized into workspaces and you can switch between using the sidebar:

• Block Studio holds blocks you have created.
• Quilt Studio holds quilts you have created.

Fabrics and palettes are your color tools. Fabrics are photo swatches you import either from online sources or from your photo album. Palettes are color sets that are automatically created with any collections import.

Quick start

1. Open Block Templates and pick a block template to start with.
2. Tap the template to preview it. Try some colors in the preview sheet.
3. When you find a template and color combo you like, simply tap "Open in Editor"
4. The Block Editor will open up with your chosen pattern. From here, you can make any edits you like.
5. Once done, you can create a quilt from that block in several different ways: under "Actions", tap "Create Quilt", or in the main view of Block Studio, long press on any block pattern and select "Create Quilt", or you can go directly to Quilt Studio, click the "+" sign to add a new quilt, and then "paint" the block pattern into the grid slots of the new quilt design.
6. The rest is up to you!

Saving

BloqLoft saves your changes automatically as you edit, update, change, rotate, or otherwise modify your work. This keeps your work current without breaking your flow, so you can totally immerse yourself in your creation.
