Interface & Gestures

BloqLoft's interface is consistent across Studios and editors. Once you learn the basics, everything feels familiar.

Navigation

Workspaces are listed in a sidebar on the left side of the screen. Tap to switch between Shape Studio, Block Studio, Quilt Studio, Project Studio, your fabric library, and settings. When you open an editor, it takes over the full screen. Tap the back arrow to return to the workspace you came from.

Editor panel

In editors, your tools live in a panel on the right side of the canvas. Each editor organizes its tools into tabs. Tap a tab to switch between them. The panel stays visible while you work so you can move between tools without extra steps.

Adaptive layout

BloqLoft adapts to how you're holding your iPad and whether you're using Split View or Stage Manager:

  • Landscape — The editor panel sits permanently on the right side of the canvas.
  • Portrait — The canvas takes the full width. A narrow toggle strip along the right edge lets you slide the panel in as an overlay. Tap the strip or swipe to open and close it.
  • Split View / Slide Over / Stage Manager — The layout adjusts based on available width, switching between permanent panel and overlay as needed.

Toolbar

The toolbar sits at the top of the editor and gives you quick access to the most common actions: undo, redo, panel toggles, and sharing. Specific tools vary between editors, but the layout and behavior are the same.
