Creating & Editing
Build palettes from scratch, extract them from images, or let BloqLoft create one from an imported fabric set. However you start, you can always edit later.
Creating a palette manually
To start a new palette from scratch:
- Open the palette picker and tap +
- Add colors using the color wheel, or add fabric swatches from your library
- Arrange them in the order that makes sense for your design: darks to lights, warm to cool, or however you think about your color story
Extracting from images
You can create a palette from any image: a photo of a fabric stack, an inspiration image, even a screenshot from a magazine. BloqLoft analyzes the image and pulls out the dominant colors as a ready-to-use palette.
Auto-generated palettes
When you import fabrics, BloqLoft automatically extracts a palette from each swatch. These palettes appear in your library alongside manually created ones. They're a quick way to get coordinating colors without picking each one by hand.
Editing a palette
Tap a palette to open it for editing. You can:
- Add swatches — More colors or fabrics
- Remove swatches — Long-press and delete
- Reorder — Drag swatches to rearrange
- Rename — Give it a descriptive name
Changes to a palette don't retroactively change fills already applied to patches. A palette is a tool for picking colors, not a live binding.
