Templates

BloqLoft turns your block design into printable documents you can take to the cutting mat. Every shape gets exact geometry with seam allowance included. No measuring, no math.

What BloqLoft generates

The Actions tab in the right panel offers four printable outputs, each generated as a PDF:

  • Materials Estimate — A fabric-by-fabric breakdown of what you need for the block, with yardage amounts based on the block's finished size.
  • Cutting Diagram — A layout showing how to cut your pieces from fabric. Pieces are packed onto bolt width so you can see exactly how to position your ruler.
  • Piecing Templates — Individual templates for each piece in your block, with seam allowance lines and sewing lines marked. The template style adapts to each shape's geometry. Print, cut, and sew.
  • Coloring Page — A clean outline of your block with all the geometry and no fills. Print it for hand coloring or share it with a quilting group so everyone can plan their own colorway on paper.

Previewing templates

Before exporting, you can preview each output in its sheet. Check piece counts, verify dimensions, and make sure everything looks right before printing.

Seam allowance

BloqLoft adds a standard quarter-inch seam allowance to all piecing templates and cutting diagrams. This matches what your ruler and rotary cutter expect.

Printing at actual size

Templates export as PDF, formatted to print at actual size on standard paper. Every piece is labeled with its fabric assignment. Print at 100% scale. The PDF includes a measurement check box so you can verify accuracy before cutting.

Accuracy guarantee: Templates are generated from the same geometry engine that renders your block on screen. What you see is what you get. No approximation, no rounding.
